the helpful bits

terms & conditions.

clear information for you and your little pal.

updated 20 september 2026 · draft

1. about JarPals and these terms

JarPals makes miniature character scenes in glass jars. these draft terms describe the intended UK consumer sales policy.

seller details are still being completed. “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the seller trading as JarPals.

2. our little handmade worlds

please read the individual product description for the size, materials, contents and care information. small variations in handmade scenery and printed surfaces may occur, but your item must still match its description and be of satisfactory quality and fit for its stated purpose.

images marked as concept artwork show designs in development. photographs and confirmed details of the finished products will be supplied before they go on sale. character stories are a surprise on delivery; materials, dimensions and safety information will not be withheld.

3. ordering and payment

available payment methods, the total price in GBP, applicable taxes, delivery charges and any agreed extras will be explained before you commit to buy. no optional rush or delivery upgrade will be added without your agreement.

the ordering process will explain when your order is accepted, and you will receive confirmation you can keep. if we cannot fulfil an order, we will tell you and return any payment for the unfulfilled order promptly. we will not substitute a different item without agreement.

where an order is placed through a marketplace, its checkout, payment and dispute procedures also apply. those procedures do not remove the seller’s legal obligations to you.

4. dispatch, delivery and rush requests

normal dispatch takes 2–3 working days after acceptance. delivery is additional. the service, delivery aim and any agreed deadline form part of the information provided before purchase. see our delivery page.

rush preparation requires our agreement and a separately disclosed premium. express postage does not itself shorten preparation time. we will confirm the dispatch deadline, delivery restrictions and total extra cost before accepting a rush order.

we are responsible for resolving loss or damage before the goods reach you or your nominated recipient. a carrier compensation limit does not cap your remedy against us.

5. cancellations, returns and faulty items

standard, non-personalised jars carry the usual distance-selling cancellation rights, even though they are handmade. our returns & refunds policy explains the time limits, costs and refund process and forms part of these terms.

if we later offer genuinely personalised or made-to-your-specification goods, any lawful cancellation exception will be explained before purchase. that exception never removes your rights where an item is faulty or not as described.

we do not impose a blanket “no refunds” policy, a restocking fee or a requirement to keep items unopened in order to exercise statutory rights.

6. looking after your pal

these scenes are intended as decorative keepsakes. glass and small pieces need careful handling. keep them out of reach of young children and pets, and follow the product’s final safety and care instructions. describing a product as decorative does not limit any applicable safety obligations or your consumer rights.

7. using this website

you may browse the site and save a copy of these policies for personal use. please do not misuse the site or copy our original branding, text and character artwork for commercial use without permission, except where the law permits it.

links to Royal Mail and other organisations are provided for helpful information. those organisations operate their own websites.

8. responsibility and your legal rights

nothing here excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or breach of your statutory consumer rights. we are responsible for reasonably foreseeable loss caused by our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care.

these terms do not require you to give up the protections or access to courts available under the law that applies to you.

9. questions, complaints and changes

please use the details on our contact page to raise a concern. include your order reference if you have one and the outcome you would like. we will investigate and explain the proposed resolution. any applicable independent dispute-resolution information will be given if a complaint cannot be resolved.

updates apply to future orders. changes will not retrospectively reduce the rights or agreed terms of an existing order. see our privacy & cookies page for how the current site handles information.

prepared with reference to GOV.UK distance-selling guidance and Trading Standards consumer-contract guidance. seller and checkout details remain to be completed.
